With nearly four decades of experience as Body Harmony practitioners, Health in Perspective’s Duncan Hogg and Gina Carruthers bring an exceptional depth of knowledge, wisdom, and understanding to Health in Perspective’s classes.
We run a range of classes throughout the year at our Alaya Verde wellness centre on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. Some we schedule, while others we arrange on an ad hoc basis in response to client demand.
Maybe you want to explore how the mind-body connection affects you, or perhaps you’ve already had one or more Body Harmony treatments and that’s got you intrigued. Or you could already be a Body Harmony practitioner and you’re looking for more CPD hours.
Wherever you are on your journey when our paths first cross, our flexible Health in Perspective programme of Body Harmony classes will work beautifully for you.
All our classes are about learning from your own body in a safe and accessible environment. You’ll be fully clothed throughout, and we’ll be meeting you where you currently are in terms of comfort and body awareness.
Introductory classes
Open to all, our Health in Perspective half-day and full-day introductory classes focus on basic touch skills and developing awareness of how your physical state relates to your emotional or mental state.
Modules
Following on from our introductory classes are a series of consecutive modules we run at various times — often in response to client demand — exploring Body Harmony approaches and techniques in more detail. These can be used for practitioners to log CPD hours.
The One Month Retreat
Our One Month Retreat runs annually at Alaya Verde. This offers a unique opportunity to broaden your understanding through hands-on classes where participants rotate between being client and practitioner. Open to all, with options to join us for three days, 15 days, or the full month.
Are you already a Body Harmony practitioner, or are you actively exploring what’s involved in becoming one? Either way, Health in Perspective offers more structured — but still experientially-led — classes that follow the Body Harmony Association’s curriculum framework.
Hosted at Alaya Verde in the beautiful Noosa Hinterland, these BHA practitioner training modules offer a balanced foundation for transformation — for yourself and for those you work with. Each module involves a minimum of 32.5 hours of class time which counts towards meeting the 250-hour requirement for certification as a Body Harmony practitioner.
